Makeup Revolution Vivid Baked Highlighters

Welcome to my blog!

For my first proper blog post I thought I would talk about the Makeup Revolution Vivid Baked Highlighters because I've been loving them lately. I'm pretty new to the Makeup Revolution Hype but I would say I've been really impressed with what I've tried so far, especially considering the price range!
I had already bought one of the highlight colours in the line and loved it so I moseyed on down to Superdrug and got the remaining two and, wow, these £3 pans have improved my highlighter game by at least 40%

Here's the selection:

From left to right we have: Golden Lights, Pink Lights and Peach Lights

I personally don't think there's a weak link here, all of them are perfect in their own way and although I would feel comfortable wearing them all, I would consider swatching them and getting a feel for which colour would work better for you.
I think what impresses me so much about these highlighters is their pigment. Seriously, you can go from 0 to actual goddess real fast, it's easy to just brush a little on the high points of your face for a beautiful but natural glow or pack it on for more drama and badass-ery.

Golden Lights

How beautiful is this highlight??? It looks like the sun is beaming out of my cheekbones... kind of. I would say this is a medium level of pigment, I could have gone lighter with the application but I also could have put a whole lot more on too. So you can really do what you like with these products in terms of highlighted-ness.
I think the colour is gorgeous, it's a super pretty gold and works so well for the summer when you're packing on the bronzer.

As you can see, it blends nicely and doesn't look too dramatic for those who shy away from that strobing life. You could brush this onto the other points of the face a highlighter would go, I just used the cheekbones as a reference point.
I think this looks so glamorous on the cupid's bow too!

Pink Lights

Ahhhh, this colour! The camera really doesn't do it justice so you should all go to your local Superdrug and swatch the heck out of this!
It looks purple in the pan but it's actually a beautiful silver. Pink and Golden Lights are my favourites because it is so easy to say the gold goes with warm toned looks and the pink goes with cool toned looks, they're perfect in my opinion.

This one is clearly the most pigmented, I made sure to pack on a decent amount for this picture so you could really see how much it lights up the face. I know it doesn't look natural but who cares, this looks so cool! And if you love the 'new' strobing trend then I would definitely recommend adding Pink Lights to your armoury. I feel this highlighter is more suited of an evening look, especially if you're going out but y'know wear is wherever and whenever!

Peach Lights

Straight away, you can see that this one is much more muted and doesn't light up the face as much as the previous two colours.
I don't see this as a weakness though, I think everyone has different comfort levels and some days you want to look naturally lit and some days you want to light up the whole world with your face. Peach lights offers the prior of the two, especially for paler skin tones.
Because it is more pink based it doesn't stand out from the skin as much, so if you like to have a very natural base I would say Peach Lights is your best bet!

I find this colour easier to blend, which, again, adds to the natural-ness of it. I'm totally head over heals for this highlighter, and I would have to say that I reach for this colour most because, for the most part, I don't want my highlight to be a focal part of my makeup. Also, because it's quite neutral on my skin, I can pair it with just about an look, so that's a total plus!

So, there you have it! I would strongly recommend all three shades and I can easily say that they are my favourite line of highlighters yet!
I still can't believe they're only £3 each, you get 7.5g in a pan (it is literally the size of my palm!) and you don't need much at all so it is so worth it. I know I won't be buying anymore highlighters for a while, I've got everything I need and I got all of them for under £10 too!

Thanks for reading, I will be back next week!
